Through classroom, small group, and individual instruction, our nurturing and engaging learning environment empowers students and enhances their academic achievement. Students receive assistance with homework assignments, test and quiz preparation, and Common Core State Standards. Students also complete supplemental workbooks to reinforce their foundational skills in a subject.
Private lessons are open to students of all levels and personalized to meet the goals of each individual. K-6th piano students who are not enrolled in our academic afterschool program can sign up for our supervised study room where they can work individually on school homework assignments before or after their lesson/individual practice times. Students also participate in our Apple Tree Annual Piano Concert, and Certificate of Merit, the annual statewide music study program sponsored by The Music Teachers’ Association of California.
Students enrolled in Glendale Unified School District’s FLAG Korean Dual Immersion Program are taught by bilingual teachers and spend 50% of the day in English and 50% in Korean throughout elementary and middle schools. We provide students in the FLAG Korean program individualized instruction in small groups of 2-3 to improve not only their reading and writing, but also listening and speaking skills, and develop their Korean language proficiency.
READING/WRITING & BOOK CLUB
Our reading and writing class curriculum is designed to help students meet the goals of the Common Core English Language Arts Standards and support their growth as readers and writers. We also offer a weekly book club which emphasizes open discussions and activities to strengthen our students' reading comprehension, critical thinking, and communication skills.
We are open 7:30 am - 6:00 pm during the summer months and offer both half-day and full-day programs. Mornings are dedicated to reinforcing and strengthening students’ academic skills and preparing them for the upcoming school year, while afternoons are reserved for recreational activities and field trips. We also offer a Korean Language Camp for students in the FLAG Dual Immersion Program and a Piano Camp for pianists of all levels.
We provide daily after school transportation to Apple Tree.
